These terms apply to all photographic scans published on this site (scanscans.com). The underlying software (code, templates) is separately licensed under MIT.

Street scans are photographs of found objects — physical surfaces in public spaces. The rights status of the depicted material (posters, graffiti, signage, etc.) is often unknown or belongs to third parties. This archive makes no claim over that underlying material and makes no warranty that any depicted material is free of third-party rights.

You may use street scans for personal, educational, or editorial purposes without prior permission, provided that you do not misrepresent the origin or authorship of the images. Commercial use requires your own due diligence on rights clearance for any third-party material depicted — at your own risk. If in doubt, assume rights apply and contact the relevant rights holder, or do not use the image.

Scans outside the street category (tattoos, studio work, and similar) are authored works. All rights are reserved by their respective authors. These scans are published for viewing on this site only — they may not be downloaded, reproduced, or used in any form without explicit written permission from the rights holder.

Attribution to scanscans.com is appreciated but not required for permitted personal or editorial use of street scans.

If you are a rights holder and believe a scan infringes on your rights, please submit a takedown request. Requests that include sufficient identification of the allegedly infringing material and a good-faith statement of ownership will be reviewed within 7 business days. We reserve the right to request additional information to assess a claim before acting on it.

This site and all content are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, scanscans.com and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of this site or reliance on any content published here, including claims relating to intellectual property rights of third parties. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with this site is to stop using it.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Georgia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Georgia.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
